“The Wizard of Oz”

The critical consensus on Rotten Tomatoes for this movie said Oz is “an absolute masterpiece whose groundbreaking visuals and deft storytelling are still every bit as resonant, ‘The Wizard of Oz’ is a must-see film for young and old.” 

With a 99% rating on the Tomatometer, it’s a film that’s sure to delight most everyone who sees it. The Toronto Star’s Peter Howell said in his review: “Knowing that it was made without a single computer, and entirely by human ingenuity, makes it all the more worthy of marveling at, 75 years and an added dimension later.” 

“A Hard Day’s Night”

The Beatles consistently top lists of the best bands of all-time, so it’s only fitting the musical in which they star is number 2 on Rotten Tomatoes’ list of best musicals. “Despite its age, still a delight to watch and has proven itself to be a rock-and-roll movie classic,” critics said.

“Singin’ in the Rain”

With a 100% rating on the Tomatometer, this classic is a movie that’s almost guaranteed to be enjoyed by everyone. Critics dubbed it a “masterpiece,” with Dave Kerr of the Chicago Reader calling it, “One of the shining glories of the American musical.”

“Pinocchio”

Coming in with another 100% Tomatometer rating, “Pinocchio” reaches beyond kids to adult audiences. Since its release in 1940, the movie has received glowing reciews, and the Rotten Tomatoes critical consensus reads, “Ambitious, adventurous, and sometimes frightening, Pinocchio arguably represents the pinnacle of Disney's collected works – it's beautifully crafted and emotionally resonant.”
