Cheap travel is possible in Wisconsin thanks to the abundance of outdoor and natural attractions the state has to offer. There is something for everyone in the family to enjoy.

Here are five great attractions for visitors on a budget:

1. Tour the cheese factory: Calling all cheeseheads! All proper visitors to Wisconsin need to visit a cheese factory. That can be done for free at several factories including the Arena Cheese or Cedar Grove Cheese. The cheese makers give visitor the opportunity to see the cheese in process and offers free samples.

2. See a Harley being made: In Menomonee Falls, the Harley Davidson Motor Cycle factory is open for free tours on Mondays. The tours include views of the assembly line and certain machining areas in the 849,000 square foot facility.

3. Sandhill State Wildlife Area: This 9,500 acre tract of land includes observation towers for viewing the wildlife including a herd of bison. A 14 mile road takes visitors past three observation towers.

4. University of Wisconsin Geology Museum: This free museum features hundreds of rocks and minerals, a fluorescent display and meteorites. A large portion of the museum is also dedicated to dinosaurs and other fossils.

5. Jelly Belly Tour: Visitors travel on an indoor train through the candy warehouse where they teach tourists the secrets of making Jelly Belly beans. The tour is free and it's great for kids to enjoy.
