Throughout his more than 60 years in ministry, influential evangelical Christian leader Billy Graham has spoken of heaven numerous times by way of his packed-out crusades and in any one of his nearly three dozen books.

Graham’s statements on heaven come as little surprise, as questions on the afterlife have abounded for ages. Christ-seekers throughout the past half-decade have looked to Graham for wisdom and insight on heaven; Graham has, in turn, frequently turned to the words encapsulated in the Bible to back up his statements.

In some of his commentary, Graham also has mentioned the concept of hell — an obviously less pleasant term that has drawn more strife within the Christian community than heaven has. But Graham states his beliefs plainly.
1. “Heaven is real, and hell is real; and eternity is but a breath away.”
As evidenced by the above quote, Graham also has touched on the concept of eternity on numerous occasions. The boundless ends of time is a concept the human mind has difficulty grasping, but Graham has frequently attempted to put the lack of understanding into the context of faith.
2. “Even when we allow our imaginations to run wild on the joys of heaven, we find that our minds are incapable of conceiving what it will be like,” Graham was once quoted as saying.
In his teachings, Graham has frequently asserted life on earth is brief and fleeting, but he places great emphasis on living in the moment as well:
3. “Heaven doesn’t make this life less important — it makes it more important,” Graham once stated.
Graham has frequently expressed enthusiasm in meeting the Son of God, as evidenced by this statement.
4. “The most thrilling thing about heaven is that Jesus Christ will be there. I will see Him face to face. Jesus Christ will meet us at the end of life’s journey.”

At times, Graham also has demonstrated humility about his own human frailty. This statement depicts his feelings, through the context of heaven.
5. “In heaven I’ll wish with all my heart that I could reclaim a thousandth part of the time I’ve let slip through my fingers, that I could call back those countless conversations which could have glorified my Lord — but didn’t.”
Graham also has frequently expressed enthusiasm in breaking free from the earthly experiences endured.
6. “Heavenly rest will be so refreshing that we will never feel that exhaustion of mind and body we so frequently experience now. I’m really looking forward to that.”
Graham also has used his views on the afterlife to tout the importance of God’s grace — not specific acts.
7. “I will not go to heaven because I am a preacher. I am going to heaven entirely on the merit of the work of Christ,” Graham once stated.
