Events around the world make the future look rather grim, according to end times prophecies. However, the popular and well-loved evangelist Billy Graham also believes it is time for people to reassess moral issues and return to the Bible for comfort and hope.

In his 2010 book “Storm Warning,” Graham said that the hard financial times and difficulties people faced represented a “depression” in economics and within the human spirit. “I see this unfolding phenomenon as one of the many storm clouds hovering over a lost and dying world,” he wrote. Since Scripture warns of natural disasters and wars at the verge of the Apocalypse, the current situation calls for “urgency to prepare for the storms to come.”

Graham offered hope at a time of fear for many Americans in an open letter he released in 2012. He described the ancient city of Nineveh, which resembled the U.S. because of its superpower status at that time in history. The prophet Jonah issued God’s warning to the people of the city. They repented their sins and were saved. Graham pointed out the same result could happen in America at this time of uncertainty.

Billy Graham's message of the end times
also stresses that only God knows when Christ will return. He points to Mark 13:32, which states, “No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.” Uncertain times give people an opportunity to turn to Christ to prepare for His return, and this gives believers hope that peace and justice will someday rule the world.

VOTE NOW: Is Christ Returning?

Christians disagree on the details of what is to occur during the Apocalypse, Graham explains. Even the Bible does not spell it out clearly, and the details “will be made known in God’s own time.” Christians, however, do share the belief that Christ will return bodily to conquer evil so believers will live in a paradise once lost in the Garden of Eden.

People who accept Christ should look at today as an exciting time to live in the Billy Graham's view of the end times. In fact, he even admits, “I would not want to live in any other period.” Although Graham believes we are at a crossroads in choosing our moral direction as troubles and insecurity loom throughout the world, it is a time for a great spiritual awakening that renews society’s faith in God.
