Reports of veterans dying while on waiting lists for medical care became a scandal for the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs while under President Barack Obama. Ultimately, it led to the resignation of Eric Shinseki as VA secretary and other actions.

But to many it was too little, too late.

The controversy led many Americans to take their outrage to Twitter. Many of their tweets demanded more action from the government regarding the poor treatment of our nation's veterans.
