With animals unable to speak out regarding the threats posed by climate change, many on social media have speculated about how it has affected them.

Twitter feeds such as @Climate Animals, @heal_our_earth, @ClimateChangeUS, and @NRDC_AF, the feed for the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC) Action Fund, strive to raise awareness throughout the world.

Amid the mostly serious alarms sounded by those advocating change, Stephen Colbert weighed in with sarcasm.



Beyond the heavy-handed reminders, the Japanese site, Monos, is spreading the word in a more subtle way, with ice cubes shaped like polar bears and penguins.
