The Alexander McQueen exhibit, showcased at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, attracted 661,509 visitors during its three-month run,

“Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty” closed Sunday at midnight, but not before a final throng of visitors made their way to the Manhattan museum over the weekend.
The onslaught of visitors catapulted the exhibit to eighth in rank for total visitors in the 141-year history of the museum.
“We are enormously gratified that visitors turned out in record numbers to view this powerful exhibition of McQueen’s work,” Thomas P. Campbell, Director and CEO of The Met, said in a statement.
The exhibit, put on by The Costume Institute, celebrated British designer McQueen, who committed suicide in February 2010.
“The show was an elegant tribute to the designer’s artistry, and we are proud to have shared it with such a broad audience, eager to experience the breadth of his genius,” he continued.
