Abercrombie Offers 'Jersey Shore' Star 'The Situation' Money to Stop Wearing Brand

Wednesday, 17 August 2011 02:52 PM EDT

Clothing company Abercrombie & Fitch has offered ‘Jersey Shore’ star Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino a lump sum if he agrees to stop wearing their clothing, reports The Daily Caller
“We are deeply concerned that Mr. Sorrentino’s association with our brand could cause significant damage to our image. We understand that the show is for entertainment purposes, but believe this association is contrary to the aspirational nature of our brand, and may be distressing to many of our fans,” a spokesperson for the retailer said in a statement.

An undisclosed but “substantial” payment has been offered to Sorrentino to wear a different brand, the statement added.

“We have also extended this offer to other members of the cast, and are urgently waiting a response,” the statement continued.
