It's a sad state of affairs when the enemies of democracy and freedom are allowed to openly voice their intentions of harming the United States without any significant opposition to those overtly expressed sentiments.
A painfully glaring example of this was the recent attack on a White House gate, as a result of violent action by Gaza protesters. This horrific incident went viral on TV and social media.
This only serves to highlight the lack of a strong and united front against such threats, but most significanty is evidence of America's failure in the "War on Terror," or the "Global War on Terrorism."
The fact that criminal, if not terroristic threats, are allowed to become the new narrative of and for of the next generation, while those who speak out against beyond alternative lifestyles face truly harsh consequences, is a troubling sign of our times.
Has America lost its way in this fight?
It glaringly seems so.
The evidence?
The growing support for known terrorist organizations by newer generations and the lack of strong education and leadership to combat such support.
One of the most troubling signs of America's failure in the war on terror is the seemingly increasing support for Hamas and Iran proxies among contemporary youth.
As of late, some of our university presidents have been no help. They are supposed to teach our children about freedom and our Constitution, they have failed miserably in this regard.
A recent survey has shown that many young people in the U.S. support Osama bin Laden, the mastermind behind the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks on America; that they are openly expressing their support for terror groups.
This now is a hard to ignore, pernicious trend, showing a fundamental lack of understanding of the gravity of these threats among not only contemporary generations, but portends the very real possibility of the breading of homegrown, fanatic terrorists who can then conceivably strike at any moment in the U.S.
Furthermore, the streets of the U.S. and Washington, D.C. are increasingly filled with supporters of Hamas and Iran proxies, openly calling for the destruction of the free world.
What of Pro-Houthi Rallies?
The fact that these rallies/protests are allowed to take place without any significant consequences or intervention from governments, that there is no pushback from them, is beyond baffling.
This is a clear indication of America's (and others') failure in the war on terror.
Globally, no country should permit such overt support for its enemies to go unchecked.
Yet, seemingly in the U.S., and elsewhere, fever-pitched displays of anti-American sentiment (and antisemitism!) increase.
The events of 9/11 should serve as a stark reminder of the devastating impact that terrorism can have on one nation and the rest of the globe.
The images of Manhattan up in flames and the heroic efforts of the police, firefighters, and rescue teams who sacrificed their lives to save others should not be forgotten or lost in vain.
The fact that many of these living heroes are now suffering immensely from the fumes, and other toxins of 9/11, as well as the the aftermath of the attacks, is a painful reminder of the ongoing terror threat, and the need for continued vigilance.
Strong leadership in the United States, coupled with a renewed commitment to combating terror threats, can send a clear message to those who seek to harm the U.S. and its allies.
All the while, nations must reaffirm their commitments to combating terrorism.
Translation?
Stand up for the values of freedom and democracy and take our nation back.
Freedom and democracy founded America, they can be used to fight global terrorism.
We now need arrests and convictions for each and every one of those who call for Americas destruction on our home soil and abroad, we need to be proactive and clear that America and freedom of speech is does not equate to handing over the keys of our democracy to terror groups and their sympathizers.
Let's reevaluate all approaches counterterrorism, addressing the obvious burgeoning threat from within.
Failure to do so will only lead to further chaos and destruction, even war.
Losing the war on terror is our (and others') horrific, dire wake-up call.
And we have lost that war. The world sees that we have.
