It was Adolf Hitler who once said, "To conquer a nation, first disarm its citizens."
Last week, this writer watched Fox News fawn all over Matthew McConaughey.
It was more than I could take.
In addition to the corporate media, Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram have hailed McConaughey as a conquering hero.
Virtually nobody else is saying what I’m about to say. Let me add my unique opinion to this brew of nonsense.
Let's recap what occurred last week at the White House — our White House.
Another celebrity was rushed forth to weigh in on one of the most important issues to Americans. Again, as it is so often over the decades, the ghoulish behavior from the left ignores a virtuous grieving period, as they run straight for controlling our Second Amendment rights.
Americans, for the most part, are neither famous or rich; nor can they do anything to respond to the manipulative insanity of this administration.
But to schemers on the left, the rich, the famous — and celebrities like McConaughey — are different, they can do something. They can expand on the Biden administration’s hard work at creating an alternative reality on every issue.
- Abortion is about a "woman’s choice."
- Open borders are about "helping the less fortunate."
- Defunding the police is about halting "racism" among law enforcement.
Teaching our children about alternative lifestyles and alternative lifestyle choices are about "inclusion." Brow-beating and incarcerating angry parents is about controlling "domestic terrorists."
Inflation is about "Putin," "COVID," and "greedy corporations."
The disgraceful situation in Afghanistan was about "ending the war."
At times, our president's acuity is mannequin-like; his responses to questions are seemingly oblivious to the reality around him.
His administration seems like it's staffed to the brim with mindless Marxists.
Are they colluding to destroy America?
It's a more than fair question.
They think they’re so smart. And that we’re all so stupid.
They secretly applaud themselves for recognizing McConaughey’s pawn value because he was born in Uvalde, Texas.
"Never let a serious crisis go to waste," said Rahm Emanuel.
Well, the Democrats and their left-leaning associates have certainly taken advantage of this one. Case in point: When they have Fox News and other so-called conservative media talking about how "sincere" and "authentic" McConaughey was, they’ve struck paydirt in their constant campaign to snatch our firearms.
With his endless references that "we must work together" and that we must be more bipartisan in addressing this and other big issues, this writer couldn't beng himself to believe in the actor's feigned sincerity.
This is what Stalinist Democrats always do. When they’re losing a public argument on an important issue and get a sinking feeling in their stomachs, especially so when they begin talking about "all of us getting together."
Don't fall for this.
But, we always fall for it, temporarily believing they’re like us.
We can't avoid the fact that they are nothing like us. They have none of the same American, family or moral values that we hold dear. They know no moral code, and thus possess little in the way of integrity.
They will stop at nothing to take our firearms.
If McConaughey had been at an Academy Awards party, or somewhere in Hollywood, then this writer might have believed him.
He would have been risking his career like, for example, Jon Voight does regularly.
Instead, he was ponied up hurriedly to the same prevaricating pulpit that the two Biden flaks have disgraced for the last 18 months. Think about that. It’s the first time I’ve ever seen a movie star at the White House podium (with the exception of President Reagan).
The actor’s dramatic flourishes, which surprisingly the Biden crew let remain, were his "heartfelt" calls for all Americans to "change the laws" … to stop the insanity and protect our children. Nobody has ever disagreed with this, but gun-grabbers carry on with it to drill it into our heads, as if our current scenario of violence is the fault of law-abiding Americans.
The bottom-line, net-net of McConaughey’s latest role was to chip away at the "not to be infringed upon" Second Amendment by first suggesting "background checks," then "red flags ," then raising the age for firearms purchase to 21.
I could find no state that doesn’t require an FBI background check for the purchase of a handgun, which is the way it’s been for as long as anyone can remember.
Ditto "red flags." These psychological checks have been extant for some time now.
Imagine an ex-wife’s use of this new law or an unreasonable enemy.
As Fmr. Rep. Tulsi Gabbard, D-Hawaii, said recently, she had real misgivings about the potential that a returning veteran could have his guns seized for a PTSD diagnosis.
These are merely "baby steps" by a Biden's cabal to remove the threat to their illegal government diktats. They want our guns and ammo — now.
Just as they forced us to take a jab we didn’t want and violated the Nuremberg Code.
As earnest as the amped-up McConaughey appeared, I don’t buy it even for one second.
All I had to see, was the phoniest of new press secretaries standing dutifully by as McConaughey played the part of his life at the podium we used to cherish as a source of the truth.
He’s part of the Biden team now. McConaughey and Beto O'Rourke have become bedfellows.
Beware of actors who talk politics, especially when they do so from stage left.
