F-22 stealth fighter jets that have been deployed to the United Arab Emirates could play an important role in the Pentagon’s contingency plan for Iran. The jets, built by Lockheed Martin (LMT) and Boeing (BA), are the most sophisticated and lethal fighter jets in the world. An unspecified number of them – possibly six – will be running test flights just 200 miles from the Iran border. But there are concerns that they may not be ready for the extraordinary mission that has been assigned to them.
