LIGNET: Afghanistan Will Regress After US Exit, Says Hoekstra

As U.S. and NATO forces prepare to end combat operations in Afghanistan after more than 11 years, the former chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, in an exclusive interview with LIGNET, gave a dismal assessment of the situation there and what will happen in the coming years. The Taliban, he says, has been a clever and persistent foe, and has not been defeated. It will re-emerge and strengthen, and Afghanistan will regress.
