An Ohio sheriff said Friday that hundreds of teachers in his county will be trained on concealed carry by the weekend "while our gov still debates what (to) do."

Butler County Ohio Sheriff Richard Jones isn't waiting around for guidance from Columbus or D.C. in the wake of last week's school massacre in Florida.

President Donald Trump has suggested arming a percentage of teachers at every school who would be specially-trained with firearms and, perhaps, receive some sort of bonus.

"I'd rather have someone who loves their students and wants to protect their students," Trump said Friday amid the news that a sheriff's deputy at the Florida school last week never engaged the shooter, instead waiting outside a building for 4 minutes while 17 people were massacred.

"A teacher would have shot the hell out of him before he knew what happened," Trump said.
