GRAND PRAIRIE, Texas (AP) — Police say a man who killed five people at a Texas roller rink shot his estranged wife and four of her relatives before shooting himself.

The shootings happened about 7 p.m. Saturday at Forum Roller World in Grand Prairie, about 20 miles west of Dallas. Grand Prairie detective John Brimmer says the rink had been rented for a private birthday party for the man's 11-year-old son. He says the man told the children to leave before he opened fire.

Brimmer said in a statement Sunday that the couple had been having marriage problems that investigators believe led to the shootings.

He identified the shooter as 35-year-old Tan Do of Grand Prairie and his wife as 29-year-old Trini Do. Brimmer says the couple's two children are safe and with other relatives.
