O’Reilly: Website Couldn't Handle Traffic from Mock Debate

Fox News anchor Bill O’Reilly, appearing Sunday on ABC’s “This Week,” laughed about the “rumble” debate with friendly foe Jon Stewart on Saturday night, and said there was so much interest in the matchup that the website server crashed.

O’Reilly said those who were unable to view “The Rumble in the Air-Conditioned Auditorium” online should try again.

“It’s worth seeing,” he said of the zinger-filled spoof. “It’s a battle between socialism and capitalism.”

O’Reilly said the choice between President Barack Obama and Republican opponent Mitt Romney is a serious one of “philosophy” and whether voters want America to be caught up in western-European quasi-socialism” or return to “robust capitalism.”

He agreed with Democratic strategist James Carville, who appeared on “This Week’s” political roundtable and talked about the crucial crux of the election.
“Carville is right for the first time in his life,” O’Reilly said. “This is huge. It’s a philosophy of life that is in play here.”
