If Obamacare costs continue to skyrocket and more people lose their health insurance coverage, more Americans would put the blame on Republicans than Democrats in a new poll.
Key results from the NBC News/Wall Street Journal survey:
- 50 percent of the U.S. adults surveyed said they would blame Trump and Republicans if health insurance problems continue under the current Obamacare system.
- 37 percent would blame Democrats.
- 27 percent said they approve of Trump's handling of healthcare, while 57 percent disapprove.
- 43 percent said Obamacare is a good idea, compared with 39 percent who said it was a bad idea.
Republicans have not yet been able to fulfill their promise of repealing and replacing Obamacare this year despite controlling both the executive and legislative branches of the government.
A report last week claimed that health insurance premiums under the Obamacare system will rise by an average of 34 percent next year.
