SC Rep. Clyburn: We Need Special Treatment From TSA

In the wake of Saturday’s tragic Arizona shooting, many in Congress have grown more concerned about their own security. Rep. James Clyburn, D-S.C., says congressmen deserve special treatment from the Transportation Security Administration at airports, The Hill reports.

“I really believe that is the place where we feel the most ill at ease — is going through airports,” the House Democrats’ assistant minority leader tells Fox News.

The TSA should interact “a little better” with the Capitol Hill Police, Clyburn adds.

“We’ve had some incidents where TSA authorities think that Congress people should be treated like everybody else.

"Well, the fact of the matter is we are held to a higher standard in so many other areas, and I think we need to take a hard look at exactly how the TSA interacts with members of Congress.”
