CNN Tops Competitors With bin Laden Coverage

LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - CNN's coverage of Osama bin Laden's death dominated the competition Sunday night.

From 10 p.m. to 3 a.m. ET, CNN delivered 4.14 million total viewers, according to preliminary Nielsen ratings data. The cable channel peaked at 11:30 p.m., about the time of President Obama's address to the nation, with 9.53 million.

It marked CNN's best performance in the five-hour period since Election Night in 2008, when it averaged 8.99 million.

Fox News Channel averaged 2.85 million viewers and MSNBC 1.58 million.
