CNN employees were locked down as rioters smashed against the Georgia headquarters of the news giant, located in Atlanta.

This comes as violence has erupted in cities around the country in response to the death of George's Floyd in Minnesota on Monday.

Police in Atlanta were hit with bottles and had their cars set on fire as rage ripped through the streets.

Rioters smashed police car windshields with barricades.

Protesters burned an American flag while people watched from rooftops, laughing at the violence.

Protesters also chanted "Quit your jobs" as they threw bottles at the police.
