New Jersey Republican Gov. Chris Christie has been named Father of the Year for 2014 by the National Father's Day/Mother's Day Council, the New York Daily News reported.

Christie shares the honor with businessman Vince Camuto whose firm specializes in women's fashion branding, CBS reported.

Christie and Camuto will be honored at a June 4 luncheon in New York with proceeds going to the U.S. programs of Save the Children, CBS reported.

The governor has four children— Patrick, Sarah, Bridget and Andrew— ranging in age from 10 to 20. He often mentions them in public, the News reported.

The Father's Day/Mother's Day Council was established in 1937 and promotes observance of both Father's Day and Mother's Day. In the last 20 years, the charitable group contributed over $20 million to family-related causes around the country.
