With Vice President Mike Pence out of town for the Winter Olympics, Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz will serve as his replacement for the keynote speaker role at Thursday's National Prayer Breakfast dinner.

According to the Forum News Service, North Dakota state Rep. Kevin Cramer revealed the news Wednesday.

The event is an all-day affair that begins with the traditional breakfast at the Washington, D.C., Hilton. Every president since Dwight Eisenhower has spoken at the breakfast.

Wentz, according to the report, will address the dinner. His day will start out in Philadelphia when the Eagles have their Super Bowl victory parade through the streets.

Wentz is open about his Christian faith and was the Eagles starting quarterback at the start of the 2017-18 season, but he suffered a season-ending injury during week 14. Backup Nick Foles stepped in to fill his void and led the Eagles to a Super Bowl championship over the New England Patriots last weekend.

Wentz proposed to his girlfriend Tuesday, news he shared on Twitter:
