Tropical Storm Kirk Moving West Across Atlantic

Tropical Storm Kirk was continuing to move west across the eastern Atlantic but didn't pose any threat to land, forecasters said before a Monday morning advisory from the National Hurricane Center showed Kirk rated just as a tropical depression. 

Kirk was 425 miles south-southwest of the Cabo Verde Islands, moving west at 16 mph with maximum sustained winds near 40 mph.

Forecasters expected some strengthening through Sunday.

There were no coastal watches or warnings in effect.
