James Caan Files for Divorce for Third Time From Fourth Wife

James Caan has filed for divorce from his wife, Linda Stokes, for the third time.

Citing irreconcilable differences, the 74-year-old actor filed divorce papers on Jan. 8, People reported.

The couple has two sons, James Jr., 19, and Jacob, 16. Caan is seeking joint custody of Jacob, and seeks to terminate financial support for Linda, People said.

Caan, who played Sonny Corleone in "The Godfather," twice before filed for divorce — in 2005 and 2009 — but those cases were dismissed.

He was married and divorced three times before marrying Linda in October 1995.

His previous wives are Dee Jay Mattis, Sheila Marie Ryan, and Ingrid Hajek.

Twitter users panned Caan over the divorce.
