Actor Hugh Laurie will be back on television soon when he does a "few episodes" of "Veep," he said on Twitter Thursday.

Fans met the news with excited posts.

Laurie has been off television since his Emmy-nominated role as Dr. House ended in 2012.

“Veep” is an HBO comedy going into its fourth season. Julia Louis-Dreyfus just won her third straight Emmy, Best Actress on a Comedy, for her starring role on the show.

TVLine reported that HBO wouldn’t comment on what role Laurie will be playing, but a source said he would be on multiple episodes.

“One role that wasn’t filled when we last saw Selina (and her very squeaky shoes) addressing the nation: A potential Biden to her Obama,” TVLine wrote, referring to Louis-Dreyfus’ character becoming POTUS. “And while Laurie’s British accent would have to be concealed (just like he did during his House days) in order for him to play her running-mate, a Louis-Drefyus/Laurie ticket would be potentially unstoppable — at least from a comedic standpoint.”
