Espanola Police Station: 'Ghost' Seen on Security Video in New Mexico

A surveillance video taken at a police station in Espanola, New Mexico, shows what looks like a ghost walking across a passage in a secured area of the station.

“I do believe in ghosts — I don’t know (what exactly was on the video), but we’ve had some unsolved murders in the area,” Detective Solomon Romero told KOAT-TV.

There is no way in or out of the fortified area, which is secured by gates and alarms. Others at the station have reported weird sounds and unexplained images, KOAT-TV said.

Many KOAT-TV viewers commented that the “ghost” was likely a bug on or near the camera lens and some questioned whether the story was a hoax.

The report also has drawn criticism from Bryan Bonner of the Rocky Mountain Paranormal Research Society, who told The Huffington Post: “That has to be one of the worst videos that I have seen. The image appears to have been caused by a small insect (possibly a small spider) crawling on the plastic case that houses the lens."

Twitter users were skeptical.
