President Donald Trump offered praise Monday for John Cox, a Republican candidate for governor in California.
“California has a rare opportunity to turn things around and solve its high crime, high tax problems… on June 5th, vote for GOP gubernatorial candidate John Cox, a really good and highly competent man. He’ll make California great again!” Trump tweeted.
The primary in California is June 5, and Lt. Gov. Gavin Newsom, a Democratic candidate for governor, is already taking aim at Cox in a TV ad, saying, “John Cox stands with Donald Trump and the NRA.”
