President Donald Trump's cadre of lawyers meet with special counsel Robert Mueller's team a few days before Christmas, CNN reported Wednesday.
It's unclear what was discussed, but Trump's legal team had reportedly hoped to gauge next phases and how much longer the investigation into Russia's interference would last.
Trump's lawyers have been burned by previous predictions of when it would end.
Mueller's has yet to request an interview with Trump or Vice President Mike Pence, CNN reports.
