The Republican National Committee slammed a planned fundraiser for Hillary Clinton that will feature aides Huma Abedin and Jake Sullivan and cast members of the hit ABC drama "Scandal."
The drama stars actress Kerry Washington as high-powered Olivia Pope, who owns a top crisis-management firm in the District of Columbia. She works close with the White House.
Both Washington and "Scandal" producer Shonda Rhimes have endorsed Clinton.
In blasting the event, RNC spokesman Marlon Bateman cited such controversies as Abedin working for private clients while working at the State Department, as well as the continuing email scandal involving Clinton herself.
"Unfortunately for them, even Olivia Pope & Associates can't clean up the messy truth about Clinton's fundamentally flawed and scandalous candidacy," Bateman said.
