Democrat Andrew Gillum continues to lead Rep. Ron DeSantis, R-Fla., in the Florida governor's race, a new poll found.
Results from the Rasmussen Reports survey:
- Gillum has 48 percent support of likely Florida voters, compared to DeSantis' 42 percent support.
- Gillum's lead decreased by one point, 49 percent to 44 percent, among voters who said they are certain to vote in the November election.
- Gillum has the support of 82 percent of Florida Democrats, while DeSantis has 80 percent support of Florida Republicans.
- The majority of men and middle-aged voters back DeSantis, while women, younger voters, and seniors largely support Gillum.
In another recent poll this week, Gillum was found to have a four-point lead in the tight race to succeed Gov. Rick Scott, who is not eligible to run for a third term. Instead, Scott is running for the Senate in a bid to replace Democrat Bill Nelson.
