Rep. Steve King, R-Iowa, is scheduled to visit New Hampshire in October for what would be his second visit to the Granite State in three months.

His travels are sparking speculation of a 2016 presidential bid, given New Hampshire's status as the second primary/caucus state in the nation, The Hill reports.

King also has a visit planned to South Carolina, another early primary state.

In New Hampshire, King is "'tentatively confirmed" as a speaker at the Strong New Hampshire Conference, an event being held by conservative advocacy group Citizens for a Strong New Hampshire, The Hill reports.

King alluded to the presidential race in his visit to New Hampshire last week, sending a Twitter picture of himself in Dixville Notch, N.H., which is the first town to vote in the state's primary. "Just poking around the back roads. Beautiful place 4 first in nation primaries & general election results," he tweeted.

King has made a name for himself with his strong opposition to the Senate's immigration reform bill.
