President Donald Trump's decision to pardon a former Arizona sheriff "violates his oath of office," Sen. Ron Wyden, D-Ore., said Saturday.
Former Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio received a full presidential pardon Friday after he was convicted of contempt of court stemming from allegations that he ordered his deputies to racially profile Latinos.
Wyden isn't pleased with the move.
Politicians from all political walks of life are unhappy with Trump's pardon, including Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz.
"No one is above the law and the individuals entrusted with the privilege of being sworn law officers should always seek to be beyond reproach in their commitment to fairly enforcing the laws they swore to uphold," McCain said.
