Unite the Country, a super PAC supporting Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden, and American Bridge, a progressive group also spending money to defeat President Donald Trump, on Monday said they would partner up to support Biden in his bid to become president in 2020, reports The Hill.

The groups are hoping to raise about $175 million together to defeat Trump.

“To beat Donald Trump, it is going to take everyone working together to spend every dollar smartly and strategically,” Steve Schale, the CEO of Unite the Country, said in a statement. “We are proud to partner with American Bridge and other groups to promote the candidacy of Joe Biden, who we know will unite our country and restore decency and moral clarity.”

The groups will coordinate polling and opposition research efforts, as well as advertising buys and message testing.

Biden has a sizeable lead over Bernie Sanders, who has yet to drop out of the Democratic race, but his campaign is on hold as the coronavirus pandemic has essentially frozen voting.

Two new national polls show Biden holding an early edge over Trump, including an ABC News/Washington Post poll that had him with a 2-point advantage, 49-47, over the president. Biden also has a 9-point lead over Trump in a Fox News poll that hasn’t changed since February.
