Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., ripped President Donald Trump for touting the administration’s efforts in Puerto Rico following the devastation left by Hurricane Maria last year.
“Trump tweeted this morning he did a ‘great job’ handling the hurricane crisis in Puerto Rico,” Sanders tweeted on Wednesday. “Meanwhile, new estimates put the Hurricane Maria death toll at nearly 3,000. What a disgrace.”
Trump has called his administration’s response to Hurricane Maria an “unsung success” and said its efforts in Puerto Rico were “unappreciated.”
