Anthony Weiner Gets Political Column at Business Insider

Anthony Weiner, whose online sexting indiscretions twice derailed his political career, debuts a new monthly political column Friday for Business Insider, the business and technology news website announced.

"We believe the unique combination of brashness and wonkiness that made Weiner one of last year’s most memorable candidates and one of the most high-profile advocates for healthcare reform during his time in Congress will make him a perfect fit for Business Insider," the news site said Monday.

The former Democratic lawmaker resigned from Congress in 2011 after admitting to sexting with several women, and then poisoned his political comeback bid last year in the New York City mayoral race after confessing he’d continued the salacious behavior after his resignation. He finished fifth in the Democratic primary.

Weiner tweeted news of his column "Weiner!", which will publish the last Friday of every month, saying: "Maybe this’ll get me mentioned on the interwebs."

Weiner this month also began writing columns for the New York Daily News.
