States Undertake Controversial Smartphone-Voting Experiments

Voting by smartphone may be right around the corner -- a prospect that Republicans tend to find extremely unsettling.

For the first time ever this year, West Virginia residents who serve in the U.S. armed forces and are stationed abroad can cast their ballots using their smartphones. Service members stationed in Iraq, Afghanistan, South Korea, or Belgium are all getting a chance to exercise their civic responsibility and vote from far-flung duty stations overseas.
