Reagan biographer Craig Shirley told Newsmax on Monday that Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez was “beyond ignorant” in charging that former President Reagan’s policies were “rooted in a racist caricature.”

Shirley, the author of four New York Times bestselling books chronicling Reagan, including “Rendezvous With Destiny: Ronald Reagan and the Campaign That Changed America," described AOC's statements as "vile.” He told Newsmax her broadsides against Reagan are based on "lies and disinformation.”
