Opposition to a wave of tougher gun-control measures is rapidly building across the country, with a growing number of sheriffs now refusing to enforce gun-seizure laws they deem clearly unconstitutional.

Gun-rights groups say the so-called “Red Flag” laws violate the Bill of Rights. Opponents say seizing a person’s weapons based on allegations not yet substantiated in a court of law violates the right to due process.
