With the presidential election less than four months away, the level of scrutiny placed on the integrity of the upcoming voting process is intensifying to a height never reached previously.

The recently passed SAVE [Safeguard American Voter Eligibility] Act, requiring states to obtain documentary proof of U.S. citizenship and identity – in person – when registering an individual to vote in a federal election, received unanimous Republican support but only five Democrats.
