Democrats may have maintained control of the White House and the Senate, but they'll likely still have to follow through on several key resolutions if they want to avoid congressional gridlock in the new year.

Facing a split Congress, Democrats must keep their own party on track and even try to work with Republicans if they want to avoid an empty close to President Joe Biden's first term in office.
