China launched the world's first sixth-generation communications test satellite in early November — a stunning announcement to come at a time when 5G tech is still in its infancy.
According to Chinese media outlet CGTN, the 6G test was one of 13 satellites launched from the Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center in the country's north Shanxi Province Nov. 6.
