Multiple waves of migrant caravans driven by extreme poverty, government corruption, and cartel violence will continue to push north from Central America indefinitely, immigration activists warn.

The caravan that marched toward Tijuana in November numbered over 7,000 at one point, a group far larger than earlier caravans. That migration was initially viewed as a one-time occurrence.
