The firing of NYPD officer Daniel Pantaleo is a direct result of political pressure from NYC Mayor Bill de Blasio amid a Democratic presidential primary campaign that needed a big move, according to former NYPD Commissioner Bernie Kerik on Newsmax TV.
"I was disappointed with the commissioner's decision," Kerik told Monday's "Newsmax Now." "I don't usually like to criticize the commissioners that have been before me or after me, but I would completely disagree with the decision. I think that it's a political decision.
