The U.S. Army and the Pentagon appear ready to bow to growing pressure to rebrand all 10 military bases named after Confederate military leaders -- but they may need to check with their Commander-in-Chief first.
Secretary of Defense Mark Esper has signaled this week he's willing to rename the bases. An Army spokesman told Politico the Army "is open to a bipartisan discussion on the topic." Their one caveat is they don't want the renaming effort to become a political football.
