Rep. Rashida Tlaib, D-Mich., says former President Barack Obama offered her words of praise.
Tlaib and other new Democratic members of Congress met with Obama this week. On Thursday, she tweeted a photo of the two smiling together.
She wrote: “@BarackObama met with us new members of Congress and we had a thoughtful discussion about serving our country. The best part was when he looked straight at me and said, ‘I'm proud of you.’”
Earlier this year, Tlaib was the target of a backlash when she vowed to impeach President Donald Trump.
