Fifty-four percent of voters say Election Day should be a federal holiday, a new American Barometer poll reveals.
The poll, conducted by Hill.TV and HarrisX polling,found:
- 48 percent of Republicans say Election Day should be a holiday.
- 63 percent of Democrats believe it should be a holiday.
- 50 percent of independents want it declared a holiday.
The poll, conduct Nov. 2-3, surveyed 1,000 voters. The margin of error is 3.1 percentage points.
