Former Vice President Joe Biden raised $21.5 million for his presidential campaign in the second quarter, The Hill reported.

The Hill attributed the latest figure to the Biden campaign, which reported that 97% of contributions came from grassroots donors. It noted the average donation was $49.

The fundraising details by Biden’s campaign were released after South Bend, Indiana Mayor Pete Buttigieg’s campaign announced he had brought in $24.8 million during the second quarter. He was the first White House contender to disclose his fundraising numbers for the quarter.
