The National Rifle Association (NRA) has fired off a series of sarcastic tweets about the terrifying armed robbery of Kim Kardashian in Paris this week.

The powerful pro-gun lobbying group's mocking comments — which focused on the effectiveness of background checks — appear to be payback for the reality show star's view that stronger firearms laws are needed.

The NRA tweeted:

Kardashian was robbed early Monday when armed thieves dressed as police officers barged into her rented luxury apartment during Paris Fashion Week.

She was reportedly tied up and locked in a bathroom as the robbers grabbed more than $10 million in jewelry and two cell phones.

The thieves remain at large.

Last June, Kardashian — who's married to hip-hop king Kanye West — blasted the Senate for failing to pass stricter gun control laws.

Tweeting:

Her missive came shortly after the deadly mass shooting at a nightclub in Orlando, Florida, in which 49 were killed.
