CNN photo editor Mohammed Elshamy resigned after a series of anti-Semitic tweets were discovered, The Hill is reporting.
He had worked at the news network since January.
"The network has accepted the resignation of a photo editor, who joined CNN earlier this year, after anti-Semitic statements he'd made in 2011 came to light," said a statement from CNN spokesman Matt Dornic.
"CNN is committed to maintaining a workplace in which every employee feels safe, secure and free from discrimination regardless of race, gender, sexual orientation or religion."
The tweets, including one calling Jewish people "pigs" after two were killed in a March 2011 bombing in Jerusalem, were discovered by GOP operative Arthur Schwartz, The Hill noted.
And Mediaite reported there were several more offensive tweets in Elshamy’s timeline.
