Embattled attorney Michael Cohen dropped his affiliation with President Donald Trump on Twitter, per The New York Times' Maggie Haberman.

Cohen dropped the reference "personal attorney to President Donald J. Trump" from his biography, a change that was not made on his LinkedIn profile.

Trump's former lawyer is under investigation by federal prosecutors in Manhattan for his role in paying porn star Stormy Daniels $130,000 before the election to keep her quiet about an affair she alleged to have with the then-presidential candidate. Prosecutors are also probing alleged violations of election law and possible financial crimes associated with Cohen's personal business dealings.

Cohen, who once famously said he would "take a bullet" for the president, said Monday his first loyalty was to his family.

"My wife, my daughter and my son have my first loyalty and always will," Cohen told ABC's "Good Morning America" anchor George Stephanopoulos during a lengthy, off-camera interview Saturday night.

"I put family and country first," he added, signaling he is willing to cooperate with special counsel Robert Mueller and prosecutors from the Southern District of New York, even if it does put Trump in jeopardy.
