Khalid Masood, who killed five people in last year's Westminster Bridge attack in London, had previously expressed his distaste with President Donald Trump and British Prime Minister Theresa May, NBC News reports.

He called May a "liar" and "sick," and complained about the "racism and rudeness" of Trump, according to a British inquest heard Wednesday.

Masood, 52, killed four pedestrians when he ran over them with his SUV, and stabbed a police officer to death at the gates of the Palace of Westminster. He was then shot dead by police.

According to the inquest, Masood was in debt, unemployed, and estranged from his wife. He had also tried to convert former colleagues into Islam. Five days before the attack, he visited his mother in Wales, telling her, "They'll say I'm a terrorist. I'm not."

On the day of the attack, Masood also sent a text message to friends with an attached document titled, "Jihad in the Quran and Sunnah."
